What Is NACE Houston?
To create an international standard that takes corrosion management products and services to a professional level, a group of experts in the industry must set the guidelines in corrosion protection and prevention. This group of professionals and companies who want to increase the knowledge of the industry in corrosion management is called NACE.
Established in 1943, a group of engineers who worked on the cathodic protection in the 1930’s wanted to expand their knowledge by researching the best ways to prevent corrosive agents from degrading pipelines in the United States.
Originally, NACE stands for the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. The organization started out as a company that deals with corrosion-related issues faced by several industries.
However, the need for standardized corrosion protection services grew worldwide as several countries industrialize and require immediate knowledge regarding corrosion management. Today, thousands of member from 116 countries from NACE International continue to strive for better anti-corrosion practices. Aside from engineers, numerous professionals and companies work with NACE International to expand global knowledge in corrosion control.
